break through

I had to do this little series!  I love all of the cute expressions that babies make!




I love when I have a session where I just have little ah-ha moments.  Not get me wrong, I love and learn from EVERY session I have, but there are certain ones that just move me.  I love those moments when I figure out a new angle, or when the light is just picture perfect (excuse the pun!).  I have to admit that I've been feeling a little bit uninspired with my photography work lately.  And I've had a little lull with my sessions, which has been needed because I've been able to spend some really needed quality time with my family.  In the mean time, I've been doing a little soul searching and brainstorming and I've purchased a few small items that I feel like will really help boost my inspiration, work and style.  I've been really wanting a clean pure look with my work...And I'm so glad I did, because I had a fabulous session yesterday with a little that I will never forget!

Olivia is 6 months old.  I'm pretty sure that this is my second favorite age to photograph.  Besides my newborns, the 6-9 month age is so great because they make the best eye contact and are sitting but not quite crawling yet...They are just perfect little subjects!  And Miss Olivia fit the mold beautifully!  She was a little dream and I had so much fun playing with her.  I had so many little ah-ha moments and feel like it's my best work yet.  I hope you enjoy my new little friend:)  Thanks Kristen for producing such a delicious little baby for me to photograph:)

Calm and sleepy Cora

I had so much fun photographing this beautiful baby.  At three weeks old, I was a little nervous about her sleeping the whole time, but she proved me wrong!  She was perfect and it was so fun to see those chubby cheeks and full beautiful lips!  She was a delight, as were her mom and family:) Thanks Alisha for a great session and letting photography the newest member of your family!

I'm back!

Wow!  What a year so far.  I have completely neglected this poor blog...but let's face it, sometimes we just need a break from time to time!  I have gladly been focusing on my beautiful family and home and am very proud to announce that we have an addition coming into the family in July!  We couldn't be happier and are loving thinking of all kinds of names...It's amazing how opinionated my little four year is on what she likes and doesn't like as far as names go:)  Here's my munchkin at four at her bday party in November.  I am most inspired by real life raw unplanned/semi planned moments.  Granted I did ask her to come outside with me so I could take pictures of her, but I love her random expressions and her little (okay big!) personality shine through! (And I LOVE these in black and white!)

The "C" Family

I had a great time with this family.  I took these before the holidays for Christmas cards.  I'm so happy with how they turned out!  Not to mention they are a beautiful family with great choice in clothing!  We went to a local vineyard for the tail end of our session and just I love the fall colors:)

Growing, Growing

Little Miss Avonlea is now 9 months!  I can't believe how fast they grow:)  You can see more of this little beauty here and here.  It was so much fun seeing all of her cuteness and visiting with her mom and dad.  It was a really cold day, but this little one was all happy and smiles! 

Baby Elijah

This little sweetheart did such a wonderful job!  At 13 days old, he was a chubby little guy and I loved every inch of it!  It was a great session with lots of smiles:)  And that hair, it was definitely my favorite!  Thanks guys for a fun morning!

back in business....

....Wow, it's been a while, huh?!  Wrapping up last year with work and Christmas ended up being a crazy adventure.  I'm glad to start a new year with a fresh new outlook.  I did break my December rule for a little newborn baby that I couldn't resist.  Meet Beckham.  This little beauty is a great addition to his cute little family!
